The Donald R. Pautz Memorial Award
On December 20, 1990, after a six month battle with leukemia, Donald R. Pautz, class of 1991, passed away. Don completed all of his coursework through his junior year as an Electrical Engineering student at Alfred University. Don was an athlete, as well as a scholar, competing for Alfred on the Men's Varsity Track and cross country teams. He was also a member of, and active in, Alfred's Award branch of IEEE. In addition to being an honest and caring person, he was always willing to give his time to help others when they were having problems, academically and personally. Born on May 6, 1969, to Marie and James Pautz of Westfield, Pa., Don was the youngest of six children. Don's family and friends were proud of the things that he did in his life. By establishing a Memorial Award in Don's name, his friends hope to foster the spirit of what we liked most about him.
