Teaching and Learning with Technology

Learning Commons In keeping with Alfred University's desire to provide students with a hands-on, collaborative learning environment, the libraries have embraced the concept of the "learning commons." The learning commons merges the best offerings of libraries and information technology into an environment where students can interact in spaces rich in print and electronic information resources. Librarians are readily available to teach, interpret, and support learning activities.

Smart classrooms Thanks to a generous grant from the Manley Trust, Alfred University will expand the number of classrooms equipped with the newest technology for teaching and learning. Provost Buckley believes that "Enhancing the learning experience for students is a priority for the University, part of our strategic commitment to develop facilities and programs to meet students' needs and expectations."
