Course Description
Hands-on
intensive training workshop. We will be using SAP
R/3 (version 4.7), the dominant Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) software for Fortune 500 companies.
ERP is a very sophisticated system that will impact
not only the Information Systems and Technology
of an enterprise but also the corporation’s culture,
cohesion and customer focus. Participants in this
program will be exposed to SAP modules on Financial
Accounting) (FI), Cost Controlling (CO), Production
Planning (PP), Material Management (MM) and Sales & Distribution
(SD).
Participants will learn by doing the ERP configuration
from scratch. Each will create a company, a plant,
general ledger accounts, and other facets in order
to understand and appreciate the potential for
an enterprise wide information system to increase
the effectiveness and efficiency of the firm. This
course can be used as an introduction to ERP but
also to experience the power of ERP after the integration.
Instructor
Dr.
Wilfred V. Huang is a professor of management information
systems in the Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering,
Alfred University. He is the technical director
of Cisco Academy Training Center at Alfred University
and the coordinator of SAP Program in Alfred University.
He is also a certified quality engineer (CQE) of
American Society of Quality and Cisco certified
academy instructor (CCAI). Huang received his Ph.D.
and MS in Industrial Engineering from State University
of New York at Buffalo, and BS in Industrial Engineering
from Purdue University. The ERP course has been
taught by Dr. Huang as part of the MBA program
for the past three years.
